Tallinn Bearty 2026 More than a party: workshops, voices, and community

From nightlife to knowledge: the global bear community steps into a new era

There was a time when the bear community was seen—too narrowly—as a space defined by nightlife, masculinity, and coded belonging. But that version of the story is no longer enough.

Today, the bear movement is expanding, softening, questioning, and evolving. It’s becoming a space where bodies are not only celebrated—but understood. Where connection goes deeper than attraction. Where conversations that once lived in the shadows are finally stepping into the light.

And this April, in Estonia’s capital, that evolution takes center stage.

From April 16 to 19, 2026Tallinn Bearty returns for its 13th edition—welcoming an international LGBTQ+ audience into a festival that dares to be more than just a party.

Yes, there will be nightlife. Yes, there will be joy, dance floors, glitter, and bodies moving freely. But what makes this edition essential is everything happening beyond the music. Tallinn Bearty is building something deeper—an intentional space where community care, education, and visibilityare just as important as celebration.

More than a party: workshops, voices, and community healing

On April 17, the festival shifts into something powerful.

A key highlight: an unmissable talk by Dr. Les K. Wright, one of the foundational historians of the global bear movement. His presence is not symbolic—it’s generational. It’s a bridge between where the community began and where it’s heading.

But the real pulse of the festival comes later that same day.

LOUD ABOUT IT: HIV, Stigma, Survival & Healing

Three voices. No filters. No silence.

Tom Siara (Poland), Les Wright (USA), Latsin Alijev (Estonia)

Together, they lead a conversation that cuts through stigma and reclaims truth—exploring HIV not just as a medical condition, but as a lived reality shaped by fear, resilience, and community.

“Silence will be broken—and stigma has no seat at this table.”

This is where storytelling becomes activism. Where vulnerability becomes power.
Where the narrative shifts—loudly, unapologetically.

And then, the release.

That same night at X-Baar, the energy transforms into something electric with POP.OP STUDIO 54—a celebration drenched in white, glitter, and unapologetic queer glamour. X Baar aka Studio 54 for one night only!, Komandandi tee 2, 10130 Tallinn, Estonia

This isn’t just a party. It’s a reclamation of space, of body, of presence.
