Winter Pride Maspalomas 2025 – Queer Paradise Under the Canary Sun
When Winter Meets Pride
In November, when Helsinki’s daylight disappears by mid-afternoon and the streets whisper the arrival of another long, cold season, a different kind of light shines more than 5,000 kilometers away.
That light comes from Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, where Winter Pride Maspalomas 2025 will once again set the island on fire from November 10 to 16 — seven days of sun, music, bodies, and freedom that defy the darkness of the European winter.
This is not just another Pride. It’s the freedom of dancing under a 23°C sun while the rest of Europe hides from the cold. It’s pool parties that last until sunrise, drag queens that command the stage like goddesses, and thousands of queer souls from across the world connecting in one giant celebration of love, visibility, and joy.
Winter Pride Maspalomas isn’t just an event. It’s a statement: Queer joy doesn’t hibernate.
It’s the warmth of a crowd dancing under 23°C sunlight. It’s drag queens shimmering in sequins that reflect not only the stage lights but the freedom of an entire community. It’s about reclaiming the joy of visibility, of being seen, of celebrating who we are — no matter the season.
A Bit of History of Winter Pride Maspalomas and the Beaches That Never Sleep
The story of Winter Pride Maspalomas began in 2014, born from a simple but powerful idea: why should Pride only belong to summer? Gran Canaria — already known for its open, inclusive spirit — embraced the vision of creating an LGBTQ+ celebration that would bring color to the colder months of the year.
That first edition lit up Playa del Inglés and the Yumbo Center, combining beach life, live music, and the unmistakable joy of the queer community.
Since then, Winter Pride has grown into one of Europe’s most beloved LGBTQ+ events, attracting over 35,000 visitors each year from across the continent.

Its stages have welcomed legendary acts that shaped queer culture — from Baccara to Donna Summer tributes, ABBA, Cher, and Lady Gaga shows, alongside the fiercest local drag queens of Gran Canaria: Drag Vulcano, Drag Orion, Drag Noa, and more.
Ten years later, the event remains an unshakable symbol of visibility, diversity, and unity under the Canary sun.
And of course, Maspalomas itself offers some of the most iconic beaches in Europe:
Playa del Inglés, the heart of the queer scene and the main hub of Pride events.
Playa de Maspalomas, perfect for long walks between dunes and sunsets.
Montaña Arena, one of the most famous nudist beaches — wild, natural, and free.
Playa de Veneguera and Playa Taurito, quieter escapes surrounded by volcanic beauty.
And for the adventurers, Playa de Güigüi — remote, stunning, and totally untouched.
Because in Maspalomas, the beach isn’t just a destination — it’s a stage, a safe space, and a state of mind. If you want to know more about these fantastic beaches, visit: Hello Canary Islands
