This February, Helsinki becomes the stage for one of Europe’s most provocative queer artists as DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival and Savoy Theatre present the one and only Ivo Dimchev.

A Night Where Queer Art Meets Radical Expression

This unique event brings together documentary cinema and live performance in a single, powerful evening — celebrating queer identity, artistic freedom, and emotional honesty.

DocPoint and Savoy Theatre join forces to introduce Finnish audiences to Ivo Dimchev, the Bulgarian queer artist known worldwide for pushing artistic and emotional boundaries through music, performance art, and activism.

The Film: In Hell With Ivo (2024)

The evening opens with the Finnish premiere of the documentary In Hell With Ivo, directed by Kristina Nikolova.

This intimate music documentary offers a raw and compelling portrait of Ivo Dimchev’s life and creative process. Through personal vulnerability, political tension, and unapologetic queerness, the film reveals how art can become a tool for healing, resistance, and survival.
