Fin/Est & Queerest: Queer Comedy Without Borders Arrives in Helsinki This December

Finland and Estonia are bringing their brightest queer comedy voices together for one unapologetically fun night. Fin/Est & Queerest: Stand-up Pikkujōulu lands in Helsinki on Wednesday, December 10 at 19:00, with a lineup that celebrates queer joy, sharp humor, and community — all in English.

Two Countries. One Stage. Maximum Queer Energy.

This holiday special marks a collaboration between two trailblazing collectives: Qoomikot, Finland’s rising queer stand-up powerhouse founded in 2024, and P*ssy Jam Comedy, the Estonian group amplifying women and queer minorities in comedy since 2022.

Their first joint show — a sold-out November 2024 performance at Hungr in Tallinn — proved one thing: queer comedy in the North is here, loud, and thriving.

Stand-up is laughter and community, but it’s also thinking in public — and we crave non-online spaces to react emotionally to each other.
— Happeningfish, Qoomikot

Where Queer Comedy Meets Social Change

Finland and Estonia’s comedy scenes are evolving fast, mirroring broader LGBTQIA+ visibility in both countries. With same-sex marriage legalized in Finland since 2017 and in Estonia since 2024, a new generation of queer comedians is stepping into the spotlight.

Qoomikot has already showcased dozens of openly LGBTQIA+ performers across Finland in the past year. P*ssy Jam Comedy is pushing that same wave forward in Estonia, as queer visibility grows one microphone at a time.

The show is entirely in English, making it a welcoming space for locals, newcomers, expats, and anyone craving queer holiday cheer.

Last year’s event in Tallinn was sold out and really well-received, it’s great to finally have Sille and Ann here, and to be able to introduce them to our audience!
