Grindr Unwrapped 2025 dropped—and once again, the gay internet outran the regular internet. But this year, something unexpected happened: Finland crashed the global conversation, landing not in one but two major categories that reveal a lot about how queer people are connecting today.

This is global LGBTQ+ news. And yes, it’s delicious.

Finland in the Global Top Charts

Only two Nordic countries really made a splash in the 2025 Grindr Unwrapped. Finland showed up twice: number 5 on the global list of “Bottom Hotspots,” and proudly sitting at number 1 worldwide for having the most “Vers.” And then there’s Denmark, holding down the number 5 spot globally for the highest number of users in open relationships. The Nordics keeping it cute, diverse, and very on-brand.

Bottom Hotspots: 1: South Africa, 2: South Korea, 3: Japan, 4: Vietnam and FINLAND is ranked #5 globally. But there’s more:

Top Vers Countries — Finland is #1 globally

Finland didn’t just show up. It dominated.

While South Africa claimed the crown as the world’s bottom capital, Finland carved its own narrative at the top of the list—and then went even bigger with the #1 spot for most Vers in the world, outranking Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Australia.

Finland is officially the global capital of Vers energy.

Grindr, 16 Years of Queer Digital Evolution

From its 2009 iOS launch to becoming one of the world’s most influential queer platforms, Grindr has shaped, mirrored, and magnified LGBTQ+ culture for over a decade.

Today, its Unwrapped report is more than data—it’s a cultural roadmap.

And in 2025, that roadmap leads straight to Finland.

Why Finland’s Win Matters

In a year where queer visibility, identity and sexual expression are more fluid than ever, Finland’s top rankings reflect a vibrant, dynamic, and proudly versatile queer community. And this is changing the mindset of many people. Some may agree or disagree with using the app, but it's everyone's responsibility and decision. Let's take care of ourselves and be responsible, both for ourselves and for the rest of the community.

It’s not just a statistic. It’s a cultural moment.
