Afrodisiac Dance Turns 15: A Queer Performance Collective Redefining Bodies on Stage
Fifteen years. Countless stages. Endless pride flags in the air.
Afrodisiac Dance is not just celebrating an anniversary — they’re celebrating survival, visibility, and joy as one of the very few independent, openly queer commercial performance groups in Finland still thriving today.
As they step into 2026, Afrodisiac enters their 15th anniversary year louder, bolder, and more unapologetically queer than ever.
“Afrodisiac Dance has never been about fitting in — it’s about taking space.”
From Pride Stages to Prime-Time TV
Over the past decade and a half, Afrodisiac Dance has built a powerful reputation across Finland and beyond.
Their performances have lit up:
Pride events across Finland (Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Lahti, Lappeenranta, Mikkeli, Jyväskylä and more)
Major festivals and national stages
TV shows like Vain Elämää and Talent Suomi
Music videos for leading Finnish artists
Film, including the movie Miami
Internationally, Afrodisiac dancers have also performed in Gran Canaria, Austria, and Belgium, carrying Finnish queer artistry far beyond borders.
Queer, Loud, and Politically Visible — Always
Afrodisiac Dance has never hidden who they are.
For years, the group has been openly queer, intentionally collaborating with LGBTQ+ artists, communities, and cultural platforms while advocating for:
Queer visibility
Female empowerment
Body positivity
Sex positivity
From waving multiple pride flags on stage to choosing venues that center queer audiences, Afrodisiac has consistently aligned performance with values.
“Visibility is not a trend. It’s a responsibility.”
Redefining Beauty on Stage: From XS to XXL
Long before inclusivity became a buzzword, Afrodisiac Dance made a radical decision:
every body belongs on stage.
They became one of the first commercial performance groups in Finland to openly embrace dancers across body sizes — from XS to XXL — sending a clear message to young audiences and a notoriously superficial dance industry:
Every body is beautiful. Every body is sexy.
This commitment to representation has been central to Afrodisiac’s identity, especially on social media, where their performances continue to challenge narrow beauty standards and inspire a new generation of dancers.
A New Video That Says Everything
Released on November 15, 2025, Afrodisiac’s latest video is a bold, visual manifesto.
Featuring:
Almost the full Afrodisiac lineup
A mix of male and female dancers
Heavy, high-impact choreography
Pure eye-candy energy
Subtle fetish aesthetics, including puppy play elements in the intro
The video captures all the layers of Afrodisiac Dance — queer, playful, sexy, political, and fearless.
It also sets the tone perfectly for what’s coming next.
“This is Afrodisiac in full volume.”
The Road to the 15-Year Anniversary Tour
The new video arrives just ahead of Afrodisiac’s 15-year anniversary tour, set to begin in 2026, with celebratory shows to be announced soon.

“Fifteen years in — and the spotlight is exactly where it belongs.”
